The least we can do is make sure the software does not let them down. That is why chamalog exists: a group we knew was running a year's savings out of a notebook that lived in one person's house. We built the thing that replaced it, and then we kept running it.

Who you'd be working with
I am one engineer, in Nairobi, and I do this work myself. I spent enough time sitting with field officers to know that the system fails at the last kilometre — the form that won't save, the report typed twice, the disbursement reconciled by hand. I write the code and I answer the email. If it turns out I am the wrong fit for your programme, I will say so on the first call.
